Introduction to Hold Baggage Screening Course
The Introduction to Hold Baggage Screening Course will introduce security screeners to stringent regulations requiring 100% screening of hold baggage. It provides a foundation for any employee preparing to work at a security screening checkpoint. This course will introduce common methodologies used to screen passenger hold baggage such as physical search, trace detection, and X-ray systems. The course will also explain the various hold baggage screening levels.
Course Overview - Explains how the course is organized and describes how to navigate through the course. The student will become familiar with the format and will be able to use its features to the fullest.
HBS Screening Levels - Teaches about the screening levels to filter bags that require further inspection, where each level is designed to ensure bags containing explosive threats are detected. The student will learn how a Baggage Handling System (BHS) may be used to track the status of a bag proceeding through the various screening levels.
